FotoDC Presents FotoWeekDC, November 9-18, 2012


Expect to see the very best in art photography, photojournalism and all new programming at this year’s FotoWeekDC. In addition to a selection of outstanding exhibitions, FotoWeekDC is comprised of a variety of seminars, lectures, workshops, portfolio reviews, photo book displays, special events, and receptions, including more than 100 partner events throughout the region.

Please check back in September and regularly prior to the Festival for additional listings of programs and festival details. Our events system is the simplest way of accessing festival information.


Ways to enjoy and participate in FotoWeekDC:

-   INTERNATIONAL AWARDS COMPETITION - Entry deadline 9/17/12. Enter our competition, for great exposure. The 2012 competition features two exciting new categories: FotoBooks (self-published photography books) and Modern Vintage (experimental work with toy cameras and mobile apps). Benefits include: $26,000 in cash prizes and winning images will be exhibited and/or projected during FotoWeekDC.

-   SEMINARS AND PORTFOLIO REVIEWS - Sign up for FotoWeekEDU @ the Goethe Institut, DC. Leading names in photography are sharing their insights and advice through this all-new educational program.

  • FotoWeekDC is launching new educational programming for the 5th Annual FotoWeekDC festival, featuring weeklong seminar presentations by the nation’s top professionals. Seminars will be interactive and inspiring and will range in topics from Fine Art, Photojournalism, Photo Book Making, the Natural World, Multi Media, and Marketing and other topics important to photographers.
  • For temporary financial support or to cover possible emergency expenses it is adviced to apply online for payday loans here at a reliable online lending company. It is also possible to find a local direct lender to apply for a loan at the store.
  • FotoWeekDC Portfolio Reviews provide photographers at all levels with the opportunity to have their work reviewed by curators, photographers, photography dealers, photo editors, and other experts from the fields of fine art, photojournalism, and multimedia offer frank appraisals and valuable business insights.

-   EXHIBITIONS & EVENTSAttend world-class FotoWeekDC events

  • International Awards Competition Exhibition: Winning work will be exhibited at FotoWeekCentral and at the Goethe Institut, where selected photo books and a print exhibition will be on display
  • Uncover/Discover 2012: Selected regional photographers will be exhibited at at a prominent FotoWeek venue
  • Partner Events: More than 100 FotoPartners will hold events in conjunction with FotoWeekDC featuring exceptional photography
