HOW TO SUBMIT

Only photographers residing in the DC, MD, and VA area are eligible to be considered for Uncover/Discover.

  • Register for FotoPage - portfolios will be taken in only through this system
  • Label your FIRST portfolio in FotoPage - 'Uncover/Discover' - This is the portfolio the curators will review. They will not review your other portfolios, but you may populate these at your leisure
  • Portfolios should contain between 10 - 20 images.  Please submit a cohesive body of creative work, a series of images that connect in theme or subject matter; single images that do not relate to one another should not be submitted for this program
  • Once you have completed uploading and publishing your FotoPage and portfolio, send an email to uncoverdiscover@fotoweekdc.org with the following information:
  1. Your name as the subject of the email
  2. Number of images submitted (in the body of the email)
  3. Attached word document including a short bio (200 words max) and a creative statement describing your submitted work (also 200 words max). Curators will review these statements as they view your portfolio
  4. FotoDC will send you an email confirming receipt of your entry, the number of images uploaded in your Uncover/Discover portfolio, and receipt of your bio/creative statement

Photographers selected by the 2012 curators will be notified no later than Friday, August 3rd.  Photographers will be responsible for printing, mounting/framing and delivering their work to FotoDC for the opening exhibit at FotoSpace. Details regarding requirements for exhibit and delivery will be provided with notice of selection.
