GUIDELINES
Eligibility
- Regional and international photographers are eligible to enter the 2012 International Awards Competition FotoBook category.
- All participants must be 18 years or older.
2012 Entry Fees
- $45 - August 7, 2012 at 12:00am EST - September 17, 2012 at 11:59pm PST
- $65 - September 18, 2012 at 12:00am EST - September 23, 2012 at 11:59pm PST (Extended Deadline)
Deadlines
- Submissions for eBooks and registration for print books are due NO LATER than September 17, 2012 at 11:59pm PST. Additional fees apply to submissions made during the extended deadline September 18, 2012 at 12:00am EST - September 23, 2012 at 11:59pm PST.
- Print books must be received no later than September 27, 2012.
Print Book Submissions
- Register using the ‘Enter Competition' button below.
- Print & use your e-confirmation as a packing slip.
- Send your print book and packing slip by mail or express shipping to: FotoWeekDC, Attn: FotoBook Competition, 1299 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, 3rd Floor, Washington DC, 20004.
- Your print book must be received no later than Thursday, September 27, 2012. Entries received after September 27, 2012 will not be accepted.
- Print book submissions will become part of the FotoDC FotoBook Library. Books within the FotoBook Library are culled for exhibitions and displays. If, however, you would like to have your book returned, you must include a self-addressed and stamped envelope. Envelopes with insufficient postage will be discarded, and the book will become part of the FotoBook Library. Once your book has been contributed to the FotoBook Library it becomes a permanent part of the collection and cannot be returned in the future.
eBook Submissions
- Register using the ‘Enter Competition' button below
- Upload your eBook at http://ebook.fotoweekdc.org
- Use the following naming convention for your eBook without any spaces: LastName_FirstName_BookName_2012.pdf (for example, Smith_John_LensOnSouthwest_2012.pdf)
- This file must be ‘unlocked’ or non-DRM (Digital Rights Management) with no restrictions on sharing, printing, or copying your ebook. This condition exists strictly for the purposes of judging
- Multimedia books with video components must not exceed a total of 3-5 minutes for the entire book
- Your ebook must be received no later than September 23, 2012 at 11:59pm PDT. Entries submitted after this date will not be accepted.
Notification of Winners
Winners will be notified of acceptance via email by October 8, 2012. Further information regarding files for exhibitions will be included in the acceptance message.
