National Gallery of Art
Masterworks by the most renowned European and American artists await visitors to the National Gallery of Art, one of the world's preeminent art museums. Since the establishment of the photographs department in 1990, the Gallery's holdings have grown to more than 10,000 photographs that span the entire range of photographic history, from the beginnings of the medium in 1839 through the present. The Gallery hosts about three photography exhibitions each year and maintains a Photographs Study Room.

 Social documentary photographer Milton Rogovin has been likened to the great social documentary photographers of the 19th and 20th Centuries, Lewis Hine and Jacob Riis. Milton dedicated his lifetime to creating photographs that speak of the humanity of working people, the poor and the forgotten ones. This gallery talk is a part of The Serial Portrait: Photography and Identity in the Last One Hundred Years. Speaker: Maryanna G.
