Q: How will I benefit from the FotoPartner Events System?

A: Being a FotoPartner is an easy, effective way to get exposure for your exhibitions and events during the FotoWeekDC Festival and throughout the year. FotoPartner events flow directly to our global events system and calendar and are searchable by name, category, location, map and more.


Q: Wil my events be highlighted in other ways by FotoDC?

A: Yes, FotoDC regularly spotlights partner events in our newsletter, FotoNews, and we post partner events on Facebook and through our other social media outlets. Our website receives hundreds of thousands of visitors each year, resulting in great exposure for all events.


Q: What is the difference between a Partner and a Sponsor?

A: A Partner is a regional organization or individual presenting photography related exhibitions and events during FotoWeek and throughout the year. Examples of partners are: individual photographers, photography dealers, art/photography galleries, museums, embassies, photography associations, schools/universities and nonprofit organizations.  Commercial entities in the business of providing a service or product relating to photography, may wish to become a sponsor.  Sponsors who are presenting photography-related events in the greater Washington, DC area, will be provided a FotoPartner page.


Q: If I wish to become a sponsor and receive a FotoPartner page, how do I apply?

A: Please contact FotoDC by email. Our email address is listed on our website.


Q: What is the cost to be a FotoPartner?

A: There is a $95 annual charge for all partners. The FotoPartner system can be used all year round.


Q: If I am not a partner or sponsor can I use the FotoWeekDC or FotoDC name and logo to promote my photographic activities?

A: No, only approved partners and sponsors may use our name and logos. FotoWeekDC and FotoDC are trademarked.


Q: Can I customize and manage my FotoPartner page?

A: Absolutely, within the framework on the website. Your organization’s logo, promotional photos and unique event details can be included. Please remember to keep your PartnerPage current and fresh. See the Demo FotoPartner Page for an example of how your page will display.


Q: Can the FotoPartner system provide a link to a Partner’s website?

A: Yes, a link will be available on each FotoPartnerPage back to your organization’s website and we ask that you link back to our site.


Q: How many events can I list at once?

A: Up to 5 individual events can be promoted at any one time. Organizations are responsible for updating their events listings to keep them current.


Q: Do my events need to be focused on photography? For example, I have
an exhibitions of oil paintings and sculpture, is this an acceptable event to post?


A: All posted events must be related to photography or multimedia video pieces. Other art forms will not be accepted for posting.


Q: Can events be listed throughout the year?

A: Yes, the FotoDC Partners and events system was designed as a year round calendar for all photography related events for the region.
